Assessment of the Economic Impact of the Tourism Sector in Jamaica
This report sets out the financial performance and economic impact of tourism in Jamaica using very detailed and comprehensive data supplied by government agencies and reputable international sources and a methodology that matches International National Accounting Standards equivilent to that used to generate standard GDP (National Accounts) estimates by most countries.
The reports details full financial statements for each tourism sub-industry (7 different accommodation sectors, restaurants, car rentals, tour operators, attractions, sports, tourist transportation and shopping). The report converts these financial statements into Input-Output tables and estimates GDP, material inputs (by category), government revenues, imports, wages and employment, and net foregn exchange earnings by sub-sector. The report also estimates the indirect and induced impacts stemming from activity in each subsector.
